What We're Up To
SePi MUSHROOMS
Everything about us
SePi Mushrooms and the circular economy
For countless years, the world economy has operated on a linear model: we take raw materials, convert them into products, and once the products are done, we throw them away. Until recently, this model wasn’t too problematic; it seemed as though we had infinite resources, and the number of products we produced was small enough that the subsequent waste could be easily managed. In the last 100 years or so, this reality has drastically changed.
SePi Mushrooms believes that circularity begins at the local level. From there, we expand circularity to encompass the region, country, and hopefully one day, the world.
Controlled Environment Agriculture
Because of our controlled environment agriculture technology, we maintain optimal growing conditions for mushrooms by monitoring and controlling vital parameters such as temperature, lighting, and water use. Controlled environment agriculture allows SePi Mushrooms to grow produce all year long, no matter the season. But what’s even more important is that it's eco-friendly by saving significant resources, since we always use only the exact amount needed of a given resource.
